I have started In Search of Lost Time many many times over the years, only to stop a few chapters in, feeling not quite ready, although unsure what I must be ready for. This wonderful post is an occasion to remind me to begin (and quite possibly fail!) again…
If there is any book that is worth stopping and starting over and over again, it's this one! I started Swann's Way when I was 18 and finished Time Regained when I was 25. At one volume per year, I read it really slowly. One of the best experiences I've ever had, and not just in the sphere of reading (as if that could be kept separate from the rest of life).

And I very much appreciate the kind words!
